Press release: MYLAPS Sports Timing to Provide Timing Technology for 2013 Bank of America Chicago Marathon

Haarlem, The Netherlands, 26th June 2013 - MYLAPS is pleased to announce that it will provide timing technology and related services to the 2013 Bank of America Chicago Marathon. After a thorough analysis of its timing options, the Bank of America Chicago Marathon selected the MYLAPS BibTag system, which offers best-in-class read rates and timing accuracy.

To ensure reliable and accurate race day timing and results for the Bank of America Chicago Marathon, MYLAPS will team up with long-time industry partners Sports Management Associates and Mika Timing. These companies, which facilitate the race day collection of timing data and scoring, will use the MYLAPS BibTag technology to time all athletes in the 45,000-participant race.

“We are extremely pleased to be the timing technology supplier for the world class Bank of America Chicago Marathon,” said MYLAPS CEO Bas van Rens. “MYLAPS timing systems will be used at three out of the six World Marathon Majors this year. The growth of our BibTag technology in the United States is tremendous and we expect to see more large U.S.-based events making the switch.”
